What They DoSheet metal workers fabricate and install ductwork for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. In addition, they fabricate and install roof decks, paint ovens, spray booths, dust collecting systems, architectural sheet metal products and food service equipment. Working ConditionsWork is laid out on metal sheets from blueprints, formed, fabricated and installed on the job site. The understanding of blueprints and the ability to work to close tolerances are necessary. Sheet Metal Workers should enjoy working with their hands and have ability to think for themselves without constant supervision. Qualifications
