Topics include: scheduling concepts, practical approach, scheduling tools (P6 and Microsoft Project), and integration into project software.

Target audience - professionals with varying levels of construction experience, interested in understanding the basic principles and practices of construction estimating,  as well as more advanced practitioners that wish to enhance their scheduling processes and best practices

Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Understand the basic principles of and reasons for planning, scheduling, lead time, leveling and resource control
  • Adequately schedule and control residential, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or business projects
  • Generate bar charts; critical path networks; including early start, late start, early finish, late finish, durations, float, and identification of the critical activities that affect the timely completion of the project
  • Correlate manpower loading and costs to the schedule and learn how to control and accurately report progress of the project
  • Use computers in the scheduling of construction projects.
  • Integrate the construction schedule with the overall jobsite management and business practices of a construction company
