Identifying and Mitigating Contract and Subcontract Risks; A Practical Guide to Contract Evaluation and Negotiation.
Construction contracts contain provisions that vary dramatically and shift risk to parties including on payment, hidden conditions, time, and long term warranty obligations. Too often the contract is signed and stuck in a drawer. This program will focus on how to negotiate key issues before signing a contract, how to quickly find and summarize contract requirements, and best practices to document the same. We will also discuss management of contract risks, recommended provisions for subcontracts and vendor agreements, and the related risk management techniques.
