This course is designed for professionals with varying levels of construction experience with a desire to learn the best practices in scheduling and enhance their scheduling processes. This course will include scheduling concepts, practical approaches, scheduling tools (P6 and Microsoft Project) and integrating project software.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the basic principles of and reasons for planning, scheduling, lead time, leveling and resource control
- Adequately schedule and control residential, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or business projects
- Generate bar charts; critical path networks; including early start, late start, early finish, late finish, durations, float, and identification of the critical activities that affect the timely completion of the project
- Correlate manpower loading and costs to the schedule and learn how to control and accurately report progress of the project
- Integrate the construction schedule with the overall jobsite management and business practices of a construction company
