Topic: Lung Health in the Construction Industry

Presenter: Dr. Debasis Sahoo, Marymount Hospital

Dr. Sahoo is a Pulmonary Medicine physician at Marymount Hospital. His presentation will focus on lung health (lung cancer, COPD, Adult Asthma, etc.) especially in relation to the risk factors of the construction industry:

• A high percentage of their employees use tobacco products
• Constant exposure to chemicals like silica and welding fumes
• General unhealthy lifestyle (obesity, high stress,  high alcohol consumption, chronic disease)

This month's meeting will feature free health screenings! Community Health Nurses from the Cleveland Clinic will be present from 7:00 - 8:00am. They will screen for:

• Blood Pressure
• Glucose (sugar)
• Cholesterol

No fasting is needed.
