Building Inspector I
Under supervision of the Commissioner of Code Enforcement, makes inspections of residential and commercial buildings and structures, or any appurtenances connected or attached to such buildings or structures in the course of construction for the purposes of ensuring compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations relating to the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, location, removal and maintenance.
Performs related duties as required that pertain to enforcement of the Cleveland Housing, Building, and Zoning Codes as well as the Ohio Building and Residential Codes.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.
- A State of Ohio Board of Building Standards (OBBS) certification as a Building Inspector and OBBS certification as a Residential Building Inspector are required.
- Must have and maintain certifications throughout employment.
