Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
Cook Paving & Construction Co., Inc. is a Cleveland based Civil Contractor who self-performs Asphalt Paving, Site Concrete Paving, and Underground Utilities. We are currently seeking a Civil Estimator to join our team and be a part of our future success. Specific requirements of this position will include preparing detailed cost estimates for all divisions of the company. This position will require great communication skills and the ability to work independently and in group settings. Knowledge and understanding of Project Management is also important.
Additional Areas of Responsibility
• Attend pre-bid meetings.
• Conduct site visits prior to bid.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and write formal proposals.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Field Superintendents, Project Foreman, and anyone else related to the process to ensure that every project is installed per the bid to limit any potential exposure on the project.
• Professional attire and positive attitude are a must.
• Great communication skills are also a top priority.
• Form relationships with suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners.

• Microsoft Office, specifically Word & Excel.
• Outlook.
• HCSS Heavy Bid & Heavy Job.
• On Center Takeoff Software.
• Job Cost & Accounting processes.
• Experience & knowledge with industry safety guidelines.
• A degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management is preferred.
• Experience level is open to an Entry Level position – or – a seasoned / experienced applicant.
