Construction Engineer

Job Description
The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA)
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Supports construction project delivery team directly or through a construction management consultant (CM) or in coordination with construction support services consultant (CSSC).  Tracks project schedules.  Performs construction management functions including quality control and quality assurance.  Reviews safety on and adjacent to the site(s).  Tracks Request for Information, Change Order requests and Submittal information.  

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Tracks change orders according to the plans, specifications and general conditions.  Supports activities of resident engineers and architects when applicable.  Utilizes project management software and AutoCAD.  Participates in design development team and evaluates consultant design plans and submittals.  This position will promote a safe and secure atmosphere, follow all safety and security rules and perform other related duties as assigned. 

Other Information/Requirements: 

MUST have a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related field.  Applicants must have at one (1) year of verifiable experience in engineering, architecture or construction. Co-op and Intern assignments may be credited in the one year experience  Applicants must be familiar with Federal Transit Administration and/or Federal Highway Administration regulations and the pertinent laws of the State of Ohio.  Applicant is required to possess, or be able to obtain within six months of hiring, an Ohio Engineering Intern Certification.
