Engineer 4 (Bridge Inspection)
Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
Plans, performs, coordinates, and reviews work on large, complex engineering projects; applies complex engineering principles and criteria for project design; performs complex structural, hydrological calculations for design of bridge and culvert projects.
Additional Areas of Responsibility
Experience with application of Ohio Department of Transportation Bridge Inspection Manual, Experience with maintenance of bridge Inspection and inventory data in the ODOT Structures Management System (SMS) per guidelines in the ODOT Manual of Bridge Inspection and by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Other Information/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with eight (8) years of related engineering experience. Requires registration as a professional engineer with the State of Ohio.
- Preferred candidates will have experience in managing all Bridge Inspection and Maintenance activities including obtaining field data by climbing structures.
