Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent, the Shift Manager plans, organizes, directs, and administers the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant; supervises and coordinates the work of subordinates to ensure compliance with federal, state and local requirements for wastewater treatment, and air emissions from plant processes. Additional Areas of Responsibility
- Manages all functions associated with operation and process control of the wastewater treatment plant; ensures the operating efficiency of all treatment plant processes to achieve a quality treated effluent; suggests methods of improving plant efficiency; ensures proper sampling; maintains records and prepares reports.
- Identifies process problems and determines necessary unit process adjustments needed to continue the efficient operation of the plant.
Other Information/Requirements
- Must possess an Associate degree or equivalent. A Bachelor degree is preferred but not required.
- Must possess five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the operation/maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, with at least two (2) years of experience supervising and/or managing staff.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving record in accordance with the District’s acceptable guidelines.
- Must possess a valid Class III State of Ohio Wastewater Operator Certificate
