Transportation Engineer 3
Acts as staff specialist, (i.e., develops & evaluates plans & criteria for variety of projects & activities to be carried out by others; assesses feasibility & soundness of proposed engineering designs, evaluation tests, products or equipment when necessary data is insufficient or confirmation by testing is advisable), &/or supervises/leads team of lower level transportation engineers, technicians, &/or support personnel by assigning tasks, monitoring work progress, & evaluating the work completed on plans.
Provides technical information to callers regarding traffic laws, sign applications, traffic counts & speed limits. Provides technical support to county managers in regards to traffic control & safety issues & by issuing signing work orders. Assists local governments by providing expertise regarding traffic control & safety issues.
Licensed as registered professional engineer by Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 2, 85642; if assigned to operate a state vehicle to travel to & inspect project sites, must possess valid driver’s license.
