Utility Worker
Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Makes daily inspection rounds of air conditioning or air handling units and vents, cleans units or vents, and cleans or replaces filters as required.
- Inspects and maintains HVAC units, mechanical equipment rooms and filters.
- Maintains appearance of mechanical equipment rooms and equipment therein.
- Assists in cleaning cooling towers, preheat, reheat and chilled water coils
Additional Areas of Responsibility
- Typical physical demands require full body motion including ability to perform work while bending, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders; requires dexterity and strength sufficient to operate required tools and machinery; typically required to lift and carry machinery and/or equipment weighing 25 to 100 lbs. and/or assist with lifting weights exceeding 100 lbs.
- Requires color acuity sufficient to distinguish color-coded signage and systems.
Other Information/Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license (VDL).
- Two years experience in a maintenance position preferred.
- One year of HVAC or Refrigeration experience preferred.
