Construction Costs and How to Manage Them

Since the economy rebounded from the Great Recession, rising construction costs have become a hot topic in the real estate community. There are lots of ways to approach managing construction costs. Some prefer hard bids. Some companies and owner’s representatives see the low numbers on bid opening day and feel success. Then, during the project, they welcome the competition and aggressive attention to every last cost. Government projects tend to favor this approach as it avoids the perception of favoritism.
