Renewable energy, BIM, Lean, and moving away from bids toward collaboration: these topics and more were all discussed by Dan Johnson, the president of Mortenson, in a recent interview with Emily Peiffer of Construction Dive. When asked which technological innovations are having the largest impact on the construction industry, he answered:
Right now, the one that's having the most impact for us is building information modeling, virtual design and construction. When you combine that with the collaborative tools that are now available in the advent of mobile devices, we are literally collaborating real-time, anywhere, out on the job site with all the stakeholders."
