Ohio Adds 4,000 Construction Jobs (AGC)

In the latest Data DIGest, AGC's Chief Economist, Ken Simonson, provides the following statistics:
- Seasonally adjusted construction employment increased in 34 states between December 2012 and December 2013
- Ohio saw the largest increase, adding 4,000 jobs for an incease of 2.3%
- The employment cost index rose .5% in the fourth quarter
- 2013 collective bargaining resulted in raises averaging 2.2% and 2.6 for 2013 and 2014 respectively
- Material and equipment costs rose in January due mainly to an increase in the price of steel
- GDP increased 3.2% in the fourth quarter
