Event Detail
AIA Cleveland / WIA+ is partnering with Gestalt Institute of Cleveland for a two-part series interactive workshop led and facilitated by a professional certified executive and leadership coach, Gail Froelicher, GPCC, PCC, EMCC-ITCA.
Each session will provide attendees with the opportunity to explore different levels of leadership and gain a deeper understanding of how specific characteristics can be applied to their own evolving leadership journeys through an interactive process of learning.
*This workshop will be offered in two sessions. There will be assignments to complete in between sessions. Attendees are encouraged to attend both sessions to achieve the maximum benefit.
Part 1
We will explore leadership as a way of being versus a position or title one holds at their work. We will review Jim Collins's 5 Levels of Leadership Model. Following that, we will explore where participants believe they stand as a leader, and what data they have to refer to and show their self-assessed leadership level. Upon completion of Part I, there will be assignments necessary to complete prior to Part II. Assignments will be provided for attendees by Gail Froelicher: 1) Complete a 360 self-assessment through sample questions and by interviewing 5 of those around the participant on how others see them as a leader; 2) Re-assess with this new data the level of leader as others see them; and 3) Begin to develop an Individual Development Plan to evolve their leadership to the participant's aspirational level of leadership.
Part 2
We will review the 5 Levels of Leadership Model and dive deeper into tools, methods, and practice skills of Question Thinking model. Each participant will be sharing their thoughts on the Individual Development Plan (IDP) which will incorporate the 360 self-assessment feedback collected and the 5 Levels of Leadership Model. We will explore the intentions behind our questions, examine their impact, and discuss how asking the “right” questions can drive leadership to new heights. To help shape each attendee's IDP, we will practice asking power questions in teams of 3.
