Topic: Mental Health and Substance Use in Construction

This presentation will cover the scope of mental health and substance use concern in the construction industry as well as a few tools for self-care/managing stress in the moment.  Christine will offer suggestions for recognizing red flags in others, being proactive with self-care, and recommendations for getting help.  Participants will learn some of the current drug trends that we are seeing at Stella Maris and a brief overview of the agency and our services.

Speaker:  Christine Robinson, LISW-S

Christine Robinson, LISW-S has been with Stella Maris since August, 2020.  She graduated from Case Western Reserve University, Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences in 2001.  Since that time, she spent many years providing direct services including substance abuse treatment, dual diagnosis care and individual mental health services at local agencies.  Prior to coming to Stella Maris, she served for many years as the Treatment and Recovery Services Director at the Mental Health, Addiction and Recovery Services Board of Lorain County.  Christine also teaches as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Akron for their graduate social work program

Cost is $25.00 per person for Construction Safety Council Members.
