Budget Specialist - Construction

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility

Processes all purchase orders, change orders and payments for all construction documents. Works closely with the B&P caregivers along with outside contractors. Must possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of Strata, Lawson, Projecto and Excel preferred but not mandatory. Flexible work hours.

Additional Areas of Responsibility
  • Prepares purchase orders and change orders for consultants, vendors and contractors for all construction projects.
  • Ensures that all paperwork has appropriate authorization and is within the project budget.
  • Monitors Financial and Project Management Systems to confirm information is updated and accurate.
  • Responds to vendor and contractor inquiries regarding status of contracts, change orders and payments.
  • Attends weekly Construction Management meetings to monitor proposed spending.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Other Information/Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience with emphasis on budgeting, financial analysis and financial reporting.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration may substitute for the experience stated above.
  • Construction terminology preferred.
  • Experience with purchase orders, change orders, and AIA documents preferred.
  • Letter of Intent experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Office experience preferred.
