Construction Observer
Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Performs inspection of all phases of construction in regards to quantity & quality of materials and work
- Prepares daily inspection reports
- Coordinate field problems with the Manager of Construction Engineering
- Inspect quality and quantity of materials, quality of workmanship and construction methods
- Uses initiative in making suggestions to improve construction projects
- Coordinates utility shutdowns and/or interruptions
Additional Areas of Responsibility
Project Experience (Preferred):
- ODOT, Ohio Turnpike, County & Municipal roadway projects
- Sewer construction and rehabilitation
- Water supply construction & rehabilitation
- Bridge Construction
- Private Development
Other Information/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or
- Associate Degree in Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management and a minimum three years’ experience or
- High school diploma and a minimum of ten years’ experience
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (Required
- Have the following certification or the ability to obtain (Preferred)
- ACI – Grade I
- ODOT Asphalt – Field Quality Control Supervisor Training (FQCS)
- Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1
