Environmental Engineer

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility

Prepares, reviews and updates environmental investigation reports on various building and infrastructure projects. Designs environmental features to support LEED and other environmental standards. Manages sustainability documentation for building projects utilizing standards such as LEED and Well Building Standard. Plans, develops and maintains systems and procedures. Liaison between department and all levels of the organization and outside community. Participates in project budgetary process.

Additional Areas of Responsibility
  • Develops, implements, manages and maintains environmental engineering for construction and infrastructure projects
  • Manages LEED and other green building standard documentation for construction projects.
  • Works with organization and vendors to ensure green building material compliance and adherence with green building policies.
  • Creates innovative solutions to environmental challenges in healthcare green building
  • Well Building Standard (WELL AP) certification from the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) preferred.
Other Information/Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field required.
  • Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering preferred.
  • LEED AP certification (LEED AP Building Design + Construction [LEED AP BD+C], LEED AP Operations + Maintenance [LEED AP O+M], LEED AP Interior Design + Construction [LEED AP ID+C] from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) required.
  • A minimum seven years of experience in environmental engineering and project management, including two years of experience on LEED construction projects.
