Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Performs work on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems at assigned facility.
- Installs, remodels, and upgrades temperature control systems including, but not limited to, pneumatic/electronic systems, air handling units, building automated management systems, and exhaust fans.
- Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and/or repair to equipment/areas within the control of the craft throughout the facility.
Additional Areas of Responsibility
- Analyzes the performance and operation of various mechanical systems and makes verbal or written recommendations for alternate operational methods or system enhancements in order to improve the efficiency of systems.
- Initiates work orders.
- Documents all work, closing work orders in the current software.
- Provides correct list of required parts and completes repair work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintains compliance with codes, regulations and hospital requirements.
Other Information/Requirements
*This role may encounter Protected Health Information (PHI) as part of regular responsibilities.
- Related Vocational/Technical training or Associate Degree required. Must complete ongoing education as required.
- Certification or diploma from an accredited HVAC R institute is required. EPA 608U required.
- Minimum 3 years of HVAC experience required.
- Ability to service small appliances and equipment with high pressure refrigerant required.
- Specific experience in a large hospital is preferred.
