Journeyman Carpenter - Drywall Installer
Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Fit and fasten wallboard or drywall into position on wood or metal frameworks, using glue, nails, or screws.
- Measure and cut openings in drywall for electrical outlets, windows, vents, and plumbing and other fixtures, using keyhole saws or other cutting tools.
- Hang drywall panels on metal frameworks of walls and ceilings using lifts or hoists to adjust panel heights when necessary.
- Trim rough edges from wallboard to maintain even joints, using knives.
Additional Areas of Responsibility
- Install blanket insulation between studs and tack plastic moisture barriers over insulation when required
- Install metal lath where plaster applications will be exposed to weather or water, or for curved or irregular surfaces.
- Able to understand direction and required productions for the task asked to perform
Other Information/Requirements
- 1 year of hands on field experience
- Union Membership (in good standing)
- Able to lift 65 lbs.
- OSHA 10 Certified
- OSHA 30 certified (preferred)
- Successfully completing drug and alcohol testing
- Able to climb ladders and stairs
- Able to work overhead for long periods of time
- Reliable transportation
