Sr. Preconstruction Manager

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility

Working closely with sales team, lead a team of engineers, designers, constructors and executives through the technical proposal/bidding process, including internal reviews and owner presentations. Read, interpret and provide technical response to requests for proposal including assembling documents to fulfill necessary requirements. Read, understand and communicate drawings and specifications requirements to ensure complete scope coverage. Attend pre-bid walk-throughs. Write overall project summary for delegation of tasks to team members.

Additional Areas of Responsibility

Read, understand and apply terms and conditions of owner’s contract and subcontracts, and make recommendations for revisions. Negotiate subcontracts for scope, cost and schedule and ensure compliance with internal terms and conditions. 

Other Information/Requirements
  • Classification normally requiring a 4-year degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Estimating or similar and 10+ years of experience in commercial/industrial construction or 15+ years equivalent education and experience. 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including compound formulas, linking sheets and workbooks, vertical look ups, horizontal look ups, circular reference calculations and concatenate function are necessary.
