Waterblast Operator
A&A Safety, Inc. is an industry leader in traffic safety, ensuring that the public can safely travel on highways and roadways throughout the region by providing materials and services related to traffic control and pavement marking. Waterblast Operators are responsible for the operation and maintenance of a roadway marking removal system, used in the heavy highway construction industry to facilitate traffic control.
The Waterblasting System uses 40,000 psi water jets to quickly remove any type of roadway or airfield marking as well as remove rubber from runways. This is a skilled position that requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate a complex piece of heavy machinery. Additional skill sets needed to be successful in this roll include effective communication skills on projects with contractors, ODOT personnel, and other employees.
- Must have valid commercial driver's license - Class B with tanker endorsement is minimum requirement
- Experience operating heavy equipment/machinery is preferred
- Mechanical experience/background preferred
- Must be able to adjust to and work with a fluid schedule – days, nights, weekends
- Must be well-organized, possess appositive attitude and be highly-motivated to succeed
- Membership in Laborer’s union (may join after being hired)
- ATSSA certification(s) a plus but not required
- High school diploma or GED
