The city of Cleveland announced in a Public Safety City Council meeting Thursday, Nov. 14, that a 10-acre property in the Kinsman neighborhood has been selected as the site for the new campus-style police headquarters.

Since 2017, city officials have been searching for a new police facility site after selling the downtown headquarters to Cuyahoga County for $9.25 million in 2018 and leasing the space back for about $1.5 million a year.

Construction on the proposed site at East 75th Street and Grand Avenue could begin as early as 2021, around the same time the buildout of the Opportunity Corridor is completed.
