Downtown Cleveland’s fourth-tallest building and a historic MidTown church are among the projects awarded historic preservation tax credits this week by an Ohio agency.

The biggest tax credit in the region, or anywhere in the state, from the Ohio Development Services Agency went to the renovation project to the Tower at Erieview on East 12th Street. The state awarded the $81.7 million project a $5 million tax credit.

In all, the agency awarded more than $31 million in tax credits for an estimated $347 million in private investments across the state. The developers do not receive the tax credit until construction is complete and all requirements are verified.
