Development Projects Position Downtown Cleveland to Compete in the War for Talent

A city is only as strong as its people. Building a place where talented young professionals want to live and work is vital for economic success, and Downtown Cleveland is rising to the challenge.

Employers in Downtown Cleveland recruit from one of the youngest, most highly skilled workforces in the United States, according to Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, including:

  • The highest concentration of health science workers in the United States.
  • The second-highest concentration of corporate headquarters jobs in the country.
  • The seventh-highest percentage of advanced degree holders in the workforce aged 25-44.
  • Over 29,000 STEM degree holders (annually awarded) within a two-and-a-half hour drive, according to Northeast Ohio business development organization Team NEO.
Downtown Cleveland has the highest concentration of jobs in Ohio (105,000 workers), and it is home to the largest residential population in Ohio, projected to reach 20,000 residents in 2020."
