In a last-minute move before leaving for summer break, the Ohio House on Thursday, June 11, passed what’s effectively a pared-down capital bill that would authorize $555 million in new bonds for school construction and other public works projects.
The bond authorization, amended into Senate Bill 4 with bipartisan support, would provide:
- $300 million in new for K-12 school construction during the next two fiscal years
- $217.5 million for a variety of local water, wastewater, road and bridge projects
- $37.5 million for conservation projects
