Women in Construction: Janelle Heinle

As a part of Women in Construction (WIC) week, March 5-11, 2017, we are highlighting several women in the industry. This interview is with Janelle Heinle, Assistant Project Manager for Regency Construction, who has worked in the construction industry for 4 years.

How did you begin your career?

I interned as an assistant project engineer while in college and began work as a project engineer after graduation.

What attracted you to the construction industry?

The construction industry allows me to interact with diverse individuals and organizations. There are always problems to solve, topics to learn, and new challenges. It also offers me the opportunity to assist in the improvement of cities and communities.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy working with a wide range of people, from carpenters to CEO's, to build structures that can be seen daily in the community.

Best Advice:

Take advantage of opportunities to learn and gain insight into the industry, and treat every situation as a positive learning experience.

Best Experience:

Working with the Cleveland Metroparks to build and improve a number of structures around the zoo and reservations. The Cleveland Metroparks is a great organization and working with them allows me to positively contribute to the community.
