Summa Health System Plans 'Significant Investment' in Barberton Hospital

Summa Health System plans to make a “significant multi-million dollar investment” to its hospital in Barberton, though it plans to shift the hospital’s inpatient behavioral health unit and its open-heart procedures to elsewhere in the health system.
Summa would not disclose the exact scope of the investments but said it will play into its vision for “population health management” and feature investments in women’s health, cardiac, oncology and orthopaedic programs, as well as expanded outpatient services.
