Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
The Manager of Environmental, Health and Safety will be responsible for leading the individuals, teams, and 3rd party contractors to ensure regulatory compliance at the local, state, and federal level. The position will have oversight of all health, safety and environmental projects across the FirstEnergy Solutions fleet, including fossil, nuclear, deactivated, and remediation sites
Additional Areas of Responsibility
- Oversees the implementation of new and existing environmental compliance programs throughout the company and develops new programs and procedures
- Maintains management and oversight of outsourced environmental providers
- Establishes and fosters key relationships with regulatory agencies at the Local, State and Federal level
- Develops and implements EH&S policies and procedures across the fleet
Other Information/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline required
- Minimum 5 years work experience in a related field
- Extensive knowledge of fossil and/or nuclear plant environmental regulations is a must
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
