Temporary Painter
Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Performs surface preparation of work surfaces, including wash, scrape, sandpaper, sandblast, wet abrasive blast, high pressure water jetting, mix and match paints, varnishes and other materials.
- Apply paint or other materials using spray equipment, rollers, and brushes.
- Must be familiar with surface preparation standards and blast cleaning equipment. May be required to refinish furniture, walls, doors and other areas including bridges and other structures.
Additional Areas of Responsibility
- Has the ability work at heights and to safely utilize Bosun Chair, JLG, Scissor Lifts, Scaffolds and Suspended Platform Systems.
- Performs planning and organizational functions (e.g. - compiles reports; prepares work orders, prepares job estimates; orders materials; monitors inventory, review coatings specifications, attend pre -job meetings, compile daily work logs)
Other Information/Requirements
- High school graduate has completed the Painters apprenticeship program; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the same skills, knowledge and abilities.
- Must have 48 months training or experience in painting under the supervision of a journeyman trade worker, or equivalent.
