OSHA Inspectors: No Protective Materials Found at Construction Site Where Worker Was Killed

Federal inspectors probing the Aqua Ohio construction site where a worker was killed Tuesday found no evidence that the company reinforced the wall of the trench that eventually collapsed, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Adminstration.

"OSHA inspectors did not observe the use of a trench box or shoring material to help protect the workers from cave-ins," OSHA spokesman Scott Allen said Wednesday. 

Allen stopped short of saying whether the company will be cited. The investigation into the Tuesday afternoon collapse remains ongoing."
