Safety Day - February 12, 2013 a Huge Success
The first Annual Construction Safety Day was held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Corporate College (a division of Cuyahoga Community College) in Warrensville Hts., Ohio.
The event was topped off with a registration of 254. We regretfully had to turn some away due to the size of the facility.
The morning session consisted of an OSHA Update/Fatalities/LEP Review by Mr. Howard Eberts, OSHA Area Director of the Cleveland office & Mr. William Donovan, Deputy Regional Administrator for OSHA. Following Mr. Eberts presentation was the START Program, dck Worldwide Presenting Management Program with Andrew Kozsan, Herb Reihner and Steve Thompson.
The afternoon breakout sessions consisted of:
- Advanced Fall Protection – Dave Gallegly – Miller Fall Protection
- Trenching & Excavating – Dana “Buck” Buchholzer – Baker Corp.
- How to Handle an OSHA Inspection – Patricia Poole, Esq. - Baker & Hostetler
- Site Specific Safety Plan Panel Discussion – Thomas Lippert - Albert M. Higley Co., Ryan Nicholson, CSP – The Ruhlin Co., Pat McMillan, CHST – Gilbane Construction, David Valentine – Panzica Construction, William Hocevar, CSP – Great Lakes Construction Co.
- Electrical Safety – Dale Gundlach – Stayin Alive
