MetroHealth on Monday laid the final beam for the steel frame for its new $767 million hospital, which is scheduled to be completed in 2022. Workers placed a pine tree atop the beam as part of a tradition that dates back to ancient Scandinavia.
The topping-out ceremony took place 15 months after MetroHealth broke ground on its new hospital in April 2019.

Two of Ohio’s biggest road construction projects have been chugging along in Greater Cleveland, even during the coronavirus crisis, with progress being made on the years’ long work for both the Interstate 480 Bridge and Cleveland’s new Opportunity Corridor.
The old Market Square strip mall across from the West Side Market is no more. In its place will be a brand new apartment building on the corner of West 25th and Lorain Avenue.
