Construction on ‘Circle Square’ Development in Cleveland’s University Circle to Hopefully Start in March

A developer behind a 5-acre-plus site in the city’s University Circle neighborhood says he hope construction can begin in March on the multi-use development that includes apartments, an office tower, a hotel and a new Cleveland Public Library.

MetroHealth on Monday laid the final beam for the steel frame for its new $767 million hospital, which is scheduled to be completed in 2022. Workers placed a pine tree atop the beam as part of a tradition that dates back to ancient Scandinavia.

The topping-out ceremony took place 15 months after MetroHealth broke ground on its new hospital in April 2019.
